Aurora Borealis Held in Check by Missions, Lose, 5-1
|
The exploits of third baseman Laurent Delaporte helped the Milan Missions defeat the Gothenburg Aurora Borealis, 5-1. Delaporte slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. William Gibson got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Jim Unknown recorded the save for Milan, his 1st of the season.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Delaporte hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Missions into the lead, 3-1.
