The Las Palmas Cafecitos started the 2040 season win an impressive 8-1 win against the Antwerp Diamonds at Estadio Inditex. Izzy Castro led the way for Las Palmas. Castro, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks.
Doriano Caraffa had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put Las Palmas on top, 7-1.
Castro told a Las Palmas Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
