Baker Hit String Snapped at 20
Friday, May 11th, 2040
Dublin Academy third baseman Shannon Baker went 0-for-4 today in Dublin Academy's 4-2 triumph over the Belgium Academy Brawlers, snapping his 20-game hitting streak.
Baker spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Baker made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Brawlers manager said of Baker's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
To date this season Baker is hitting .313 with 2 home runs.
