Monarchs Eke Out 5-4 Win Versus Valencia
|
Valencia third baseman Nicolas Mrazek had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Vatican City at Stadio Ferrari. Mrazek went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The defeat makes Valencia 10-9.
The Monarchs grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Alf Wegraeus, who is tied for 10th in the EBF with a 1.010 OPS, hit a 3-run home run off Thomas Smith, putting Vatican City in front, 5-4. For Wegraeus, it was his 4th home run of the season.
"Feels good to get the job done," Wegraeus said after the game.
