Pipers Beat Celtic Warriors, 6-3
|
Glasgow starter Sebald Rosen pitched effectively against the Dublin Celtic Warriors at Pipers Pit at Scotland Yard. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The winner in relief was Daniel Merlet. The left-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Sieb Burggraaf earned the save for Glasgow, his 4th of the year.
Euan Stewart had a go-ahead double for Glasgow in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the 29-year old right fielder hit a bases-clearing double off Gerd Funck. His 6th double of the season made the score 4-1.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Glasgow manager Kevin Patterson.
The loss drops the Dublin record to a disappointing 6-8.
