Elephants Come Back Late, Nip Horsemen
|
The Eindhoven Elephants managed to get by the Gronigen Horsemen, 4-3, at Stadion Gronigen. Eindhoven pitcher James Giles set himself apart with his performance. Pavle Mihailovic closed the game out for Eindhoven, earning his 2nd save. The loss drops the Horsemen to 2-3.
There were several reasons the Elephants beat the Horsemen, but one factor was Mark Thomson. In the top of the eighth, the Eindhoven first baseman came to bat and hit a 3-run home run. It staked his team to a 4-1 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Thomson told the Eindhoven News.
