The Saint-Étienne Alouettes trumped the Kiev Comets, 11-4, at Comets Stadium. Saint-Étienne designated hitter Benoît Perrin was terrific. He went 2-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Nenad Stevic got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The loss drops the Comets to 5-8.
Saint-Étienne second baseman Sérgio Jourdan made his contribution to the Alouettes cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning. For the day, Jourdan went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Perrin.
