Generals Defeat Pipers, 6-5

The French Generals withstood an impressive performance by Glasgow designated hitter Espen Söderqvist to defeat the Pipers, 6-5, at Saint Laurent Stadium. Söderqvist went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. French reliever Walter Majerhoffer picked up the win to move to 1-3. Mehmet Arnold suffered the loss. With the win, French raised its record to 13-10.
The knockout blow came in the bottom of the 15th inning. That's when center fielder Trevor de Graaff stepped to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.
"Now that's what I call an exciting game," said Generals manager Ben Tennyson.
