Piña Shines in 13-6 Valencia Win

The Valencia Luchadores topped the Dublin Celtic Warriors, 13-6, in European Baseball Federation action at Dublin Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of Valencia shortstop Joaquín Jerónimo Piña. The victory gives Valencia a record of 11-10.

With Valencia leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Piña came up to bat against Dublin pitcher Gerd Funck. Piña hit a slider to left for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Luchadores on top, 4-0.

Piña expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
