Brewers Improve to 11-7 with 8-1 Win
|
The first-place Berlin Brewers were less than gracious hosts to the Glasgow Pipers.
Berlin turned a good effort from starter Hartmut Wolf into a win over the Glasgow Pipers at Siemens FIeld. The final score was 8-1. Wolf, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Stig Barström.
In the bottom of the fourth, second baseman Christophe Poisson hit a 2-run home run to center. The home run, which was hit off of Earnest Foch, gave Berlin a 4-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Wolf told the Berlin Bulletin.
Glasgow falls to 10-8.
