Luchadores Absorb 6-3 Loss at Pipers Pit at Scotland Yard
|
The Valencia Luchadores and Glasgow Pipers riveted fans at Pipers Pit at Scotland Yard.
Behind a fine performance from Yngve Sondergaard, the Glasgow Pipers knocked off the Valencia Luchadores, 6-3. Sondergaard was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Pipers. Vilhelm Schmitt earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Sieb Burggraaf nailed down his 2nd save.
Sondergaard contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Glasgow get the win.
"Don't let his youth fool you," said Pipers manager Kevin Patterson. "Yngve knows what he's doing out there."
With the win, Glasgow elevates its record to 5-3.
