Rikard Pedersen never let Eindhoven get something going. The Rotterdam right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Trojans to a 4-1 win. Émeric Faure was called on to finish, recording his 5th save. Rotterdam, now 10-4, has played well in the early going.
Erling Davidsen provided some late-game heroics for Rotterdam. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring double. It came on a 1-1 fastball from Vilmos Dodos and propelled Rotterdam to a 2-1 lead.
Davidsen said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
