The Rotterdam Trojans got a strong performance from pitcher Clément Loiseau, who stymied the Eindhoven offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Stadion Rotterdam. The save went to Émeric Faure, his 4th this season. The Trojans have hit the ground running, raising their record to 8-4. While it's still too soon to talk about Rotterdam hoisting their 1st Dutch Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
There were several reasons the Trojans beat the Elephants, but one factor was Barnes Grondman. In the bottom of the seventh, the Rotterdam third baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Grondman told the Rotterdam Citizen.
