Almere Doubles Up Rotterdam, 8-4
|
The Rotterdam Trojans got a superb performance from shortstop Lars-Erik Bloomberg. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Almere. The Wild Horses won the game, 8-4. Bloomberg went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Adelbert Wolfe earned the win for Almere. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Picking up the save was Liam Nilsson, his 1st.
In the bottom of the fourth, Julio Chavez had a big grand slam home run off Clément Loiseau. With the home run, the Almere left fielder put his team in front, 5-4. He was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in the contest.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Chavez, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Rotterdam is now 5-3.
