Trojans Raise Rally Flag, Beat Almere, 5-3
|
The Rotterdam Trojans trumped the Almere Wild Horses, 5-3, at Stadion Almere. Rotterdam shortstop Lars-Erik Bloomberg was terrific. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Thierry Thiery earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Trojans raised their record to 4-2.
Bloomberg came through with some timely hitting for Rotterdam. With Almere trailing 3-2 in the top of the eighth, Bloomberg hit a full count slider for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 5-3, Rotterdam.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bloomberg said.
