Firefighters Beat Visiting Privateers, 8-3
|
The Balbriggan Firefighters stopped the Liège Privateers, 8-3, behind an impressive performance from Jan Dahlengren. The 22-year old center fielder made life miserable for Liège pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Firefighters, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Dahlengren made an early impact for Balbriggan when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the first, put the Firefighters on top, 2-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Balbriggan manager .
