The home crowd had a good time watching the Bergen Fighters and Balbriggan Firefighters get after it.
The Balbriggan Firefighters beat the Bergen Fighters, 4-0, at Firefighters Park. Balbriggan left fielder Roogan Drake had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The Firefighters raised their record to 2-1.
An important at-bat for the Firefighters came in the bottom of the first, when first baseman Seriozhenka Alalykin stroked a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Balbriggan. For the day, Alalykin was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Alalykin called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
