The Vigo Golden Knights powered past the Porto Vandals, 10-3, at Vandals Stadium. Samppa Laakso threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs, to lead the charge. Laakso got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Laakso allowed 3 runs. Vigo, now 9-3, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Vigo catcher Punisa Kadijevic made his contribution to the Golden Knights cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning. For the day, Kadijevic was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"We came out aggressive," said Golden Knights manager . "We came out swinging the bats."
