The Foggia Mallards faced a tough opponent in Thessaloniki pitcher Gary Faure, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fire Park by a final score of 6-3. Faure went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Foggia reliever Luigino Accardo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Konrad Schwappach shouldered the loss. Thessaloniki drops to 1-4.
In the top of the tenth, Foggia third baseman Maximilian Torkelinson hit a run-scoring single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Mallards.
Torkelinson told a Foggia News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
