Golden Knights Walk Off with 9-7 Win
|
Vigo Golden Knights starter Wilburt Helms pitched effectively against the Norrköping Frozen Ropes at Golden Knights Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 9-7 win. Vigo reliever Manny Pena picked up the win to move to 1-0. Martin Andersen suffered the loss. The loss puts Norrköping at 3-2.
Rémi Charron found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Norrköping hurler Martin Andersen, the 16-year-old catcher hit a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Golden Knights on top, 9-7.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Helms.
