Norway Academy's Mettle Tested in 3-2 Win
|
The Norway Academy Berserkers picked up a win at Berserkers Academy, knocking off the Berlin Academy Brewers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Aksel Jensen played a key role in the triumph. Jim Unknown picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Stanislav Svoboda was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Berlin Academy 2-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 2-2, designated hitter Jim Unknown won it for Norway Academy. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Unknown hit a full count fastball from Stanislav Svoboda for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.
"We've got great fans," said Unknown. "I hope they got what they came for."
